Want to get some fresh air after a long day at the trade fair? The Grugapark is particularly suitable for a walk at the moment, as it has been transformed into a colourful landscape of lights. The popular Parkleuchten, which is once again being organised by the World of Lights team in its 15th edition, invites you to take a tour through the illuminated park with a variety of installations that surprise, enchant and impress. In addition to the box office, Grugapark also offers online tickets for this event, which allow faster access to the park.
The park illuminations begin daily at dusk. Economical LEDs are used as well as timers, which ensure that energy can also be saved this year. The bodies are made of wood, metal, polyethylene, moulded LEDs and other materials, some of which have been repurposed.
Increasingly, projections - often with background sound - are an integral part of the event. Special effects are created by the different projection surfaces made of white fabric, wire mesh or wooden sticks. The most spectacular of these is certainly the projection onto a water shield measuring around 100 square metres on Lake Margarethen.
This year's highlights
- An oversized floating duck makes its rounds on the forest lake
- A large ship equipped with 2,500 LEDs floats on the crane meadow
- Sea of flames: The 1-5 metre high pillars, which light up from the bottom to the top using controllable LEDs, give the impression that living flames are blazing
- Black light jungle: visitors are immersed in a mysterious world full of glowing colours and shapes that shine in black light
Parkleuchten ends at 9 pm on Sundays to Thursdays and at 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Last admission is one hour before the end of the daily illumination.
Due to the special entrance fee, there is no free evening admission for the entire duration of Parkleuchten.Special admission from 3 p.m. costs 9.00 euros for adults; children (6-15 years) 3.50 euros; free admission with a Grugapark annual pass.
