10 a.m. and 4 p.m.: Qualifying for Worldskills 2024

The 47th Worldskills will take place in Lyon, France, from September 10 to 15, 2024. At the World Skills Championships, young professionals aged 22 and under compete every two years to test their skills against demanding standards. The German selection process is organized by the FDF regional association of Bavaria. Until the beginning of December, young florists were able to apply with photo submissions of their self-designed floral bridal fan, which were then judged by a panel of experts. The best will take part in qualifying for IPM 2024 at FDF World.

This preliminary decision will take place in three stages, with mainly surprise works on the program. The starting signal will be given before the start of the trade fair on Monday afternoon, i.e. without the trade public.

Parts 2 (10 a.m.) and 3 (4 p.m.) will follow live on the FDF show stage on the first day of the fair. After part 3, it will be announced who will be competing for Germany at Worldskills.

1.15 p.m.: Stage talk with the world champion florist

On the first day of the trade fair at 1.15 p.m., there will be an opportunity to see Nicolaus Peters, the 2023 World Florist Champion, live on stage. In conversation and exchange with FleuraMetz and the FDF, the world champion will provide insights into his extraordinary floristry career. FleuraMetz and the association have accompanied and supported Nicolaus Peters throughout his career and on his way to the Interflora World Cup 2023 in Manchester.

2 p.m.: Floos - the crafter's secret

Floos is the first online teaching platform and library to offer step-by-step floral recipes from influential international master florists in videos and photos, with new recipes added every month. Floos and the FDF will be presenting the teaching concept at IPM 2024. Alongside Carles J. Fontanillas, the mastermind behind the concept, and Álex Segura from Spain, Frédéric Dupré from France will be showcasing exceptional designs and innovative techniques.
