Using AI in tenders
Dario Luipers, Managing Director of the Mittelstand-Digital-Zentrum Rheinland, presented how artificial intelligence can be used in companies in principle - for example for forecasts of material and capacity bottlenecks, an initial selection of plants, automated cost estimates and initial drafts. If AI is used to scan tenders and specifications and the computer brain takes over the summary of the information, capacities are available for tendering and servicing customer inquiries.
Luipers recommended using CRISP-DM as a standardized data mining process to technically implement an AI project in the company. "The AI output must always be evaluated," said Luipers. Although AI can be used wonderfully for data preparation, Excel is not the right tool to serve as the basis for AI. You have to use AI like a new skill, comparable to MS Office. He showed understanding for the fact that many people still shy away from using it. "The fears are real and need to be reduced through communication."
Filling positions via TikTok
Values are the key factors in employee satisfaction, explained Dr. Annika von Mutius (Epion, Berlin) in her presentation on artificial intelligence in recruiting. "70 percent of all employees think about resigning." However, AI is still a long way behind in the HR industry. It can increase recruitment speed and reduce costs. Her tip: "Stop the job ads!" They are not AI-optimized anyway. And many characteristics are missing for the feature design - including personality traits.
Von Mutius reported that management positions can be filled via TikTok. However, this does not work for people over the age of 40. The Chinese video portal offers interest club networks, among other things. Today, job advertisements must contain values that a company needs to develop and maintain. An employer brand and SEO marketing improve performance. "We must dare to replace chance with high-performance techniques." And we need more basic research to develop AI with European values.
Implementation must gain momentum
Artificial intelligence is causing the biggest change in life, explained Prof. Dr. Thomas Druyen, sociologist, President of the opta data Future Foundation and Director of the Institute for Future Psychology and Future Management at Sigmund Freud Private University. "We are much further ahead in basic research in AI than in implementation," said the scientist. Studies show: The situation causes stress. And uncertainty causes fear. Germany is in danger of being overtaken by other nations when it comes to artificial intelligence. "We are the most resilient society in the world, but we only start when the car has almost hit the wall."
