To this end, Cannabis-Net is working on innovative technologies along the entire cannabis value chain - from cultivation, harvesting and processing to the standardized end product. Particular attention is paid to ensuring the raw material and quality standards of herbal medicines and cosmetics made from cannabis.
To date, 27 small and medium-sized companies from Germany have been working together on this. In addition, 15 Canadian companies are enriching the network with their many years of expertise and facilitating a valuable exchange. The University of Hohenheim is responsible for network management, administration and coordination of network activities.
The aim is to develop innovative technologies along the cannabis value chain in research projects (as individual projects or cooperation projects between several companies). As a result, the foundations for the production of medical cannabis in Germany, which meets pharmaceutical specifications in reproducible quality, are to be created and a sustainable contribution made to closing existing research gaps. The network covers the following key areas: Breeding and cultivation technology, machine and plant construction, analytics, extraction and data analysis, end application, product development and certification.
