The who's who of the international flower wholesale trade will once again be represented at IPM Essen 2023 in the approximately 1000 square meter BGI Trade Center (Stand 1D12 and 1C21) in Hall 1. The Association of the German Flower Wholesale and Import Trade (BGI) is inviting visitors to its traditional stand party there this Thursday from 6 p.m. In addition to hopefully stimulating discussions, good drinks and delicious food, a change will also be celebrated.

The BGI Board has appointed Andrea Kirchhoff as the new Managing Director. On April 1, she will succeed Frank Zeiler, who has held this position since 2009.

International flower and plant wholesaler

The BGI Trade Center once again brings together many players from the international wholesale flower trade. The Gasa Group will be there with contacts from Germany, Denmark, Poland and the Netherlands, the Dutch Flower Group, the FM Group and the Floral Trade Group from the Netherlands, three of the world's leading wholesale companies, and the Plantion flower auction from Ede will also be part of the exhibitor line-up at the BGI Trade Center again this year. For the high-quality range of indoor and outdoor plants from the Netherlands, RM Plants is another top-class supplier specializing in tropical and Mediterranean plants. Hoorn Bloommasters' exceptional range of hand-tied ready-made bouquets will be on display this year at stand 1 C 21. Barile Flowers Service from Terlizzi (Italy) offers its customers not only cut flowers but also customized services and logistics. Asian Cuttings from Sri Lanka stands for the diversity of tropical cut foliage and ornamental plants. For the first time at the BGI Trade Center, Red Lands Roses will be presenting an impressive range of spray roses from Kenya. Verdissimo is already known to visitors to the BGI Trade Center as a supplier of an exclusive and extensive range of stabilized flowers and plants and will be presenting its constantly growing range with numerous new products.

The German flower and plant wholesale trade

The German flower wholesale trade will also be prominently represented. EPS (Euregionales Pflanzenservicecenter) from Kevelaer and the companies Gebrüder Cox, Buurman Pflanzen and the cut flower wholesalers organized under Flora Blumenimport (FBI) eG from Straelen-Herongen will represent the flower and plant wholesale trade based in the Lower Rhine region. Vahldiek, southern Germany's largest cut flower wholesaler, together with its Dutch partner Nijssen jr. will once again use the IPM as a contact and order exchange for its customers and partners in the BGI Trade Center. New to the BGI Trade Center is the Düsseldorf-based TBK Blumen Vertriebsgesellschaft für Blumen und Pflanzen.

Packaging, accessories and logistics

Weber Verpackungen from Wickede offers individual industry solutions for flower and plant packaging. Among other things, the company stands for imaginative bag packaging made of 100% paper, film or composite material. DecoWraps will be showcasing innovative packaging and hardware for flowers and plants, with a new range of zero-waste packaging solutions. Chrysal is known for freshness when it comes to the shelf life of flowers and potted plants. Representatives from Chrysal International and their German sales partners will be on hand to advise you at the BGI Trade Center.As a logistics partner for the German flower and plant trade, De Haas Road Cargo from Aalsmeer, whose core business is the daily conditioned groupage transport of flowers and plants to Germany and Austria, will be making its debut at the BGI Trade Center.

Pioneer in sustainability

With Fairtrade Germany, the company that has been committed to human rights and environmental protection in the global supply chain for decades and awards probably the best-known seal in this field, and the MPS Group, the internationally active certification company for quality and sustainability in horticulture, two of the most important organizations are once again represented, whose certificates and seals make the efforts of horticultural companies in the social sector and with regard to their sustainability measures visible. The start-up Pottburri is committed to reducing plastic waste. The range of fully degradable growing pots made from ground sunflower husks and a regional plant range will be presented for the first time at the IPM. Euro Plant Tray eG opens a new chapter in terms of sustainability in horticulture. The newly founded cooperative will launch a reusable tray for potted plants next year, which should make a significant contribution to reducing plastic waste in the German potted plant market. Representatives of the new cooperative will be available at the information desk at the Marktplace in the BGI Trade Center, as will representatives of the umbrella organization of international flower wholesalers Union Fleurs and the Association of German Flower Wholesalers and Importers (BGI).
